POP3 AUTHentication command
RFC 1734, “POP3 AUTHentication command”, is a Proposed Standard document published in December 1994 by J. Myers. It has been obsoleted by RFC 5034 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This document describes the optional AUTH command, for indicating an authentication mechanism to the server, performing an authentication protocol exchange, and optionally negotiating a protection mechanism for subsequent protocol interactions. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
