EIP: The Extended Internet Protocol
RFC 1385, “EIP: The Extended Internet Protocol”, is a Historic document published in November 1992 by Z. Wang. It has been obsoleted by RFC 6814 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
EIP can substantially reduce the amount of modifications needed to the current Internet systems and greatly ease the difficulties of transition. This is an "idea" paper and discussion is strongly encouraged on Big-Internet@munnari.oz.au. This memo provides information for the Internet community. It does not specify an Internet standard.

A specification that has been superseded or is otherwise no longer recommended for use.
