RFC 1166, “Internet numbers”, is an Informational document published in July 1990 by S. Kirkpatrick, M.K. Stahl, M. Recker. It obsoletes RFC 1020, RFC 1062, RFC 1117. It has since been updated by RFC 5737. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
