RFC 1112, “Host extensions for IP multicasting”, is an Internet Standard document published in August 1989 by S.E. Deering. It obsoletes RFC 988, RFC 1054. It has since been updated by RFC 2236. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This memo specifies the extensions required of a host implementation of the Internet Protocol (IP) to support multicasting. Recommended procedure for IP multicasting in the Internet. This RFC obsoletes RFCs 998 and 1054. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
