Routing Information Protocol
RFC 1058, “Routing Information Protocol”, is a Historic document published in June 1988 by C.L. Hedrick. It has since been updated by RFC 1388, RFC 1723. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This RFC describes an existing protocol for exchanging routing information among gateways and other hosts. It is intended to be used as a basis for developing gateway software for use in the Internet community.
