Reliable cloud with genuinely helpful support
Linode (now Akamai Cloud) has been my production environment for three years. Running a mix of Dedicated CPU and Shared instances for a SaaS backend.
What sets Linode apart is the support. Real engineers respond to tickets, usually within an hour. They've helped me troubleshoot kernel panics, network routing issues, and even offered architecture advice. This level of support is rare in the cloud space.
The Sydney data center gives me great latency for Australian users. LKE (managed Kubernetes) has matured nicely too.
The Akamai acquisition has me slightly worried about the indie spirit changing, but so far the product and support quality haven't degraded. Pricing is competitive though not the cheapest anymore.
