Russia post-invasion restrictions

Following the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine, the Russian government progressively blocked or throttled Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, the BBC, Deutsche Welle and many independent news sites. The restrictions have continued and expanded. Whilst not a full internet shutdown, the cumulative effect amounts to substantial isolation of Russian users from the wider open internet, with VPN usage exploding in response.
