Event description
After the outbreak of conflict in the Tigray region in November 2020, the Ethiopian government cut all internet, telephone and electricity services to the region. The blackout persisted for over two years with intermittent partial restorations. NetBlocks documented one of the longest information blackouts in modern history, affecting humanitarian operations as well as civilian communications.
