SpamCop SCBL

About
Long-running blocklist driven by user spam reports. Operated by SpamCop, owned by Cisco since 2007. Useful as a complaint-driven complement to evidence-based lists.
Listing criteria
IPs reported as sources of spam through SpamCop's reporting system. Listings are short-lived (typically a few days to weeks) and based on volume of recent complaints.
How to query

For an IP address 1.2.3.4, query reversed-octets-dot-zone:

dig +short 4.3.2.1.bl.spamcop.net

A returned IP (such as 127.0.0.2) means listed. Each blocklist has its own set of return codes meaning different things; the operator's documentation explains theirs.
