.мкд domain extension

The .мкд domain is the Cyrillic script country code top level domain for North Macedonia. It is managed by the Macedonian Academic Research Network (MARnet) based in Skopje. This TLD was created to serve the Macedonian speaking internet community and requires registrants to have a local presence or business connection to the country. Registration is open through accredited registrars listed on the MARnet site. The domain was delegated in 2014 as part of the country's IDN ccTLD program, enabling domain names written entirely in the Macedonian Cyrillic alphabet. It runs alongside the Latin .mk domain, also operated by MARnet.

The .мкд domain was delegated on 21 April 2014 after a redelegation of the .mk zone that same year. Both the .mk and .мкд TLDs were transferred to MARnet following an IANA redelegation report from September 2014. The introduction of .мкд allowed North Macedonia to offer a fully Cyrillic domain namespace aligned with the country's official alphabet.
