.한국 (dot Hanguk) is the country code top-level domain for South Korea, written in the Korean alphabet (Hangul). It is managed by KISA, the Korea Internet and Security Agency, based in Naju, Jeollanam-do. This is an internationalized domain name (IDN) ccTLD that lets users register domain names entirely in Korean characters. There are no general eligibility restrictions, but registrants must follow KISA's policies for the .kr namespace. The domain was officially delegated on February 5, 2011, after a request from the Korean government to provide a fully localized internet address option. It uses a distributed DNS infrastructure with several name servers.
