Registration is open to anyone, with no local presence requirement. Most domains are handled through accredited registrars, and the zone is operated by CentralNic. The .vg extension was registered in 1997.

History

In February 2014, the IANA redelegated the .vg domain to the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, transferring responsibility from a previous operator.
