.loft

The .loft domain was a generic top-level domain that never made it into active use. It was originally delegated to Annco, Inc. in August 2016, but the delegation was revoked in December 2022. Today, .loft does not appear in the root zone, meaning no websites or email addresses can actually be registered under it. That makes it something of a ghost TLD a would be namespace that existed on paper but never really happened. Because it was never operational, there are no eligibility rules or registration restrictions to speak of. The whole thing is a footnote in the history of the internet's expansion.
History
The .loft domain was delegated to Annco, Inc. on August 1, 2016, as part of the new generic TLD program. However, on December 17, 2022, the delegation was revoked, removing .loft from the DNS root zone entirely. It remains one of the few TLDs to be fully rescinded after initial delegation.
