.kp is the country code top level domain for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, better known as North Korea. The domain is managed by Star Joint Venture Company, a North Korean entity based in Pyongyang. Registration services are handled through the company's website at star.co.kp. The domain was originally delegated to the Korea Computer Center in 2007. In 2011, administrative responsibility was redelegated to Star Joint Venture Company, which continues to operate the TLD today. The domain has two name servers, ns1.kptc.kp and ns2.kptc.kp. While the IANA record does not list explicit eligibility rules, .kp domains are generally understood to be restricted to organizations and individuals with a presence in North Korea. The .kp domain was first delegated in September 2007 to the Korea Computer Center.
