.extraspace is a branded generic top-level domain owned and operated by Extra Space Storage LLC, a major self storage company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The TLD is intended for use by Extra Space Storage and its affiliates, partners, and customers to create a dedicated online namespace for storage related services and information. While the registry does not publicly list strict eligibility rules, it is expected that domain registrations are limited to the company's ecosystem. The domain was delegated in March 2016 following a successful application to ICANN's new gTLD program. Extra Space Storage partnered with FairWinds Partners for administrative oversight and with Afilias for technical DNS infrastructure.
