BOSCH

.bosch is a brand top-level domain owned and operated by Robert Bosch GMBH, the German industrial conglomerate behind Bosch power tools, automotive parts, and home appliances. It was delegated to the company in 2015 as part of ICANN's New gTLD program, giving Bosch full control over its own namespace on the internet. The domain is closed and restricted: only Bosch and its affiliates can register .bosch names. This keeps the TLD secure for official brand use, preventing cybersquatting and unauthorized sites. All technical operations are handled by Identity Digital, with servers distributed across multiple IP addresses. The registry uses its own WHOIS and RDAP servers for lookup services. Bosch does not open the TLD to public registration.

History

Bosch applied for .bosch in 2012 during ICANN's first round of new generic top-level domains. IANA delegated the TLD on December 18, 2015, after the company cleared all evaluation and contractual steps. It remains one of the few single-brand gTLDs operated by a German firm.

Eligibility and restrictions

Closed brand TLD. Only Robert Bosch GMBH and its subsidiaries may register domains. No public or third party registrations.
