Solid budget option with a few frustrations

Our non-profit runs three WordPress sites on DreamHost's Shared Unlimited plan. At $2.95/mo with a free domain, the value is excellent for organizations watching every dollar.

Uptime has been reliable — we've had maybe two brief outages in 18 months. The custom control panel takes some getting used to if you're coming from cPanel, but it works fine.

The WordPress pre-install and automatic updates are convenient. Free SSL and unlimited email are nice bonuses at this price point.

Frustrations: site speed is merely okay (not fast), especially during peak hours. Their email hosting can be flaky — we've had delivery delays. And the lack of phone support means you're stuck with chat or email when something goes wrong.

For budget-conscious organizations, it does the job. Just set expectations accordingly.
