Great developer experience, pricing has crept up

DigitalOcean was my first cloud provider and it still has the best onboarding experience for developers. The UI is intuitive, the docs are phenomenal (seriously, their tutorials rank for everything), and Droplets spin up in under a minute.

Managed Kubernetes works well for small clusters. App Platform is handy for quick deploys.

The downside? Pricing has increased steadily and they're no longer the budget option they once were. A basic Droplet costs more than equivalent specs at Hetzner or Vultr. Bandwidth overages can also surprise you. Still a solid platform, just not the value leader anymore.
